Welcome to Dismaland, the most ironic theme park ever

banksy

Famous street artist Banksy is the name behind Britain’s newest them park, “Dismaland”, which opened today. This very unusual “bemusement park” is located near Weston-super-Mare, near Banksy’s hometown (Bristol) and it features works by other artists, and a heavy load of cynism and sarcasm.

Tagged as “The UK’s most disappointing new visitor attraction!”, visitors of the park will have the chance to enter a decrepit castle, see model boats on a pool full of refugees or simply carry a balloon labelled “I’m an imbecile”. They will also get to see a showcase of talent curated by Banksy, making a stament on Western culture, consumerism and extreme disparities of wealth.

Ironically, the world that is so harshly criticized by his work, has welcomed him with open arms and some celebrities such as Christina Aguilera or Brad Pitt had bought his artwork and paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for it. Conservative politicians in the area have also praised the park despite the anti-authority them.

Fans of Banksy and curious visitors alike will be able to enter the park at a price of just 3 pounds, and it will be open until September 27.
