The coming of the storm: Two separate weather warnings in effect for Friday

It’s not looking good weather wise in the run up to Christmas.

Met Eireann has issued two separate weather warnings for this Friday, a national yellow and a regional orange. Both will kick in at 6am on Friday Dec.23, and will remain in place for 12h.

According to the forecaster, Friday will be very windy indeed, particularly around particularly in Donegal, Mayo and Galway. Gusts of up to 120km/h are expected there.

It will be windy elsewhere also, with gusts up to 90km/h and outbreaks of thundery rain.
