The fate of John Waters and Gemma O’Doherty’s lockdown legislation challenge lies in the hands of the Judge

The fate of the the journalist and author’s legal High Court challenge now lies in the hands of Mr Justice Charles Meenan.

It’s understood that the Judge will give the case consideration and will give his verdict electronically, but it’s not known at this time when that will be.

This week, investigative journalist Gemma O’Doherty and John Waters came out of the High Court and declared that they must win their challenge against the lockdown legislation.

Author John Waters said that “our country is finished if we do not win this action – our constitution is suspended indefinitely”.

Mr Waters was defiant against propaganda that RTE was pushing out and said that he was asked by them whether it was a conspiracy theory, while Gemma O’Doherty said that RTE asked her about immigration.

Mr Waters said that this package of new laws has set a precedent for the future and that so many people have been bought off from the government.

Many people will be left without jobs, left without homes, bankrupt without their business and that you can imagine the consequences from these laws.

He said that he was hopeful more Irish citizens will wake up to what they’re being told by mainstream media.

“What I’m asking the court is a very simple question. What’s the point in having a constitution. What’s the difference between having a constitution and not having a constitution. I believe we have to win.”
