Garda Horkan died after being shot during an incident in CastleRea late on Wednesday night.
43-yr-old Stephen Silver has been charged in relation to the shooting of the Garda.
Today Garda Horkan’s funeral will take place in Castletwon, Co. Mayo at midday. Garda stations around the country will observe a one minute silence at midday for Garda Colm.
