The funeral of mother (21) killed in Limerick hit-and-run will take place on Sunday

This weekend is the funeral for a mother of one who was murdered last week when a vehicle crashed into a set of gates at a house in Rathkeale, County Limerick, reports Breaking News.

Last month, Rathkeale resident Marguerita Sheridan, 21, gave birth to her first child, a son.

Last Saturday, December 21st, at around 12:15 p.m., a vehicle struck gates at Bank Place, Well Lane, Rathkeale, critically injuring her and causing her death, reports Breaking News.

On Christmas Eve, 42-year-old Danny O’Donoghue of Lower Main Street, Rathkeale, appeared before a special late sitting of the Limerick District Court.

On December 21st of last year, Mr. O’Donoghue was charged with dangerous driving that resulted in Ms. Sheridan’s death, criminal damage to a set of gates, threatening to kill or seriously harm Patrick Sheridan, displaying a machete during the alleged threat, and criminal damage to Mr. Sheridan’s van, reports Breaking News.

The accused was placed under remand in jail last Tuesday evening in order to appear before Limerick District Court via video connection on Friday for additional case-related instructions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The remains of Marguerita Sheridan will be interred on Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cross’s Funeral Home in Limerick City, it was announced, reports Breaking News.

She will be buried in the nearby cemetery following her funeral, which is scheduled for Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Rathkeale.

The victim’s father, John Sheridan, praised his daughter, calling her “a true legend” who had a passion for horses, reports Breaking News.

Ms. Sheridan’s remains were subjected to a post mortem by Dr. Sally Anne Collis, the State Pathologist.

The investigating gardaí stated that they were not making the autopsy results public for “operational reasons,” reports Breaking News.
