Over Christmas, churches throughout Drogheda held prayers for the missing and alleged murder of toddler Kyran Durnin, reports The Mirror.

Most clergymen named him by name as the Gardai investigated a number of fresh leads following a deluge of public information.

The youngster was six years old in June 2022, the last time the authorities think he was seen alive, and the current focus is on tracking his whereabouts, reports The Mirror.

To find him with many suspects during that time, detectives are searching through thousands of hours of CCTV video.

A Garda source said: ” The timeline has now moved from May,2022 to June 2022 and during this period we believe Kyran lost his life. We still have no idea how he died or what happened to him. It may have been an accident and the cover-up is worse than the crime. We just don’t know. But the fact is that certain people knew this young lad was dead and deliberately kept it quiet for over two years,” reports The Mirror.

The Gardai are currently working to reduce the number of potential burial locations for Kyran.

The source added: ” There will be more arrests and more digs in the coming weeks. We are not going to rest until we find Kyran’s body. The people of Drogheda are very angry about this case and want to see those responsible arrested and punished,” reports The Mirror.
