It has been reported that Melinda Gates first met with her divorce lawyers after discovering her husband allegedly had links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
The now estranged wife of Bill Gates reportedly began legal consultations about breaking up with her husband of 27 years in October 2019, according to The Wall Street Journal.
At around the same time, The New York Times revealed Bill had allegedly met up with Epstein, who committed suicide in prison last year while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, a number of times reports the Metro.
Divorce filings this month shows the couple agreeing to separate their assets according to a separation contract. Their joint assets include a $131 million home compound in Washington state, a rare Leonardo da Vinci notebook, and investments in Microsoft and Four Seasons Hotels.
According to Forbes, Bill Gates is the fourth wealthiest individual in the world, with an estimated net worth of $124 billion.
