Aisling Brady McCarthy, the Irish nanny who spent 27 months in jail after being accused of the death of a baby in her care, now plans to file a lawsuit.

McCarthy was initially charged with assault, and the charge was later upgraded to murder after Rehma Sabir, the one-year-old baby she was looking after, died in hospital.

She spent 27 months in jail and a further 3 months under house arrest before the charges against her were dropped.

McCarthy claims that testimonies that may have helped exonerating her were ignored by authorities.

Now back in Ireland, McCarthy has revealed her intention to sue due to her wrongful conviction.
