According to new report published by the Department of Finance the state paid former presidents Mary McAleese and Mary Robinson and ex-taoisigh Bertie Ahern and Brian Cowen pensions worth over €100,000 each.
The new report found that Ms McAleese received a whopping pension of €137,749 in 2015, Ms Robinson was paid €121,158.
Meanwhile former Govrenment leaders Mr Ahern and Mr Cowen received pensions of €83,918 as officeholders, along with their TD pensions worth €53,291.
It is understood that current legislation states that all former TDs are entitled to a pension for their time served in the Dail, meaning both Mr Ahern and Mr Cowen collected just over €137,000 each for the year 2015.
