The organisation representing the country’s Psychiatric nurses have voted overwhelmingly in favour for industrial action.
The organised work stoppages are being held in protest over the increasing number of staff shortages and resources in mental health services. According to The Psychiatric Nurses Association, which represents in the region of 5,000 psychiatric nurses and students, confirmed the news last night, saying 87% of those who voted were strongly in favour of industrial action.
The PNA Board will reportedly meet on Thursday to decide when the industrial action will take place, but sources say it is unlikely to start for at least another two weeks.
