A six-year-old girl with Down Syndrome from Edmonton, Canada, has put those who disgracefully denied her a place in a dance class firmly in their place after video of her strutting her stuff has become a viral hit.
The young girl named Ana was denied the opportunity to join a dance class after the people running it told her mother she wasn’t welcome and wasn’t to their standards. Well now she has wooed the world and show those who despicably denied her chance, by showing everyone her fantastic dance skills to a mashup of Walk the Moon’s catchy AF “Shut Up and Dance” and Whitney Houston’s seminal classic, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody.”
The determined mum who found another dance class, Sonja Malaniuk, told reporters that her daughter, who has Down syndrome, was turned away from the first dance studio she tried to attend. “We were told she wasn’t welcome, she wasn’t to their standards.”
Meanwhile the owner of the dance academy who happily accepted Ana, Amanda Desousa said: “I just feel that it’s very important that any little girl or boy who wants to dance should be able to dance and be given the opportunity.”
Since the amazing video was uploaded it has been viewed over 200,000.
