The sons of an American tourist who was brutally attacked in the centre of Dublin visited the exact site of the attack, reports The Mirror.

New Yorker Stephen Termini, 57, remains at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin after suffering serious head and facial injuries in an unprovoked attack by a group of youths on Store Street in the centre of the capital last week.

Stephen’s sons Mike and Jesse Rizzuto were at their injured father’s bedside in Ireland on Thursday and gave positive news that their father was no longer in a coma, although they admitted he had a long road ahead of him.

This weekend, the brothers visited the place where Stephen was being held, and Mike described the feeling of standing where their father was brutally beaten.

“My brother and I stood where our father was attacked. Its a very heavy spot, but it’ll take more than that to keep us down. Our father has improved on his health. He’s no longer in a coma, but it will be a long healing process. Please stand by. Much love,” Mike tweeted, reports The Mirror.

“We’re taking it basically one hour at a time. He is making slight improvements that we’re very happy with and he’s showing some good signs of having a strong resilient body,” Jesse told RTE News, reports The Mirror.
