In Senegal’s capital, a Boeing aircraft went off a runway, injuring ten passengers, reports Sky.
Ten of the eighty-five passengers on board the TransAir-operated Air Senegal aircraft were hurt in the incident, which occurred during the voyage to Bamako in neighbouring Mali, according to Transport Minister El Malick Ndiaye.
“Our plane just caught fire,” said artist Cheick Siriman Sissoko from Mali on Facebook, sharing a photo of the nighttime scene as people were jumping down the emergency slides while the plane was completely enveloped in flames, reports Sky.
There are screams in the background. Either a hospital or a hotel has been used to house the passengers while they rest and heal.
Photos of the damaged jet on a green area with fire suppressant foam surrounding it were released by the Aviation Safety Network on X.
Photos posted on social media by the Aviation Safety Network, which keeps track of airline mishaps, appear to reveal that one of the engines on board the Boeing 737-300 appeared to have split apart, and a wing was also damaged, reports Sky.
