Ruibin’s Bar & Restaurant in Galway published their new cocktail menu last week, however one cocktail in particular has not been received well by the Catholic community.
The bar created a cocktail they call Ruibin Holy Water. It’s a mix of Hennessy, spiced rum, grapefruit, lime, peychaurd’s bitters and plum clarified with milk. The concoction is served with “communion on the side” attached to the outside of the glass with a clothes peg.
Comments from the Catholic community show the level of outrage at the attack on the Catholic community with some saying, “This is a disgrace. For Catholics, the Eucharist is sacred. Your mockery is deeply upsetting”.
Another comment asks “Have you a Muslim cocktail version or is it just Christians you are out to insult??”
