Ireland’s answer to the Wet-Banditts, the “ATM-Thieves” have been out and about again after stealing yet another ATM machine, this time in Castleblaney, Co. Monaghan.
Gardai are said to be completely mystified as to how so many automatic teller machines are being stolen in such quick succession.
Last night’s raid saw a tractor cordon off a street that stopped gardai gaining access to the area. It also saw a digger left running after thieves managed to break the ATM out from the AIB bank’s wall.
The entire robbery took less than 6 minutes with the thieves making off towards Co. Armagh in a dark coloured jeep.
