The political merry go round continues on today, as TDs are set to vote for a third time to elect a new Taoiseach.
The outcome is likely to be negative, however, as parties have not yet agreed on pretty much anything, so a fourth round and beyond is likely, as the taxpayer pays for everything all the while.
Independent TDs hold the key to elect a new Taoiseach, and their support will help swing the results one way or the other. On this occasion, however, Independent TDs are likely to abstain as no clear agenda for government exists.
The main parties will meet again after the vote for more talks on the matter.
