It has emerged today that Thomas Cook’s top personnel awarded themselves bonuses to the tune of £47m in the years leading to the firm’s demise.
There are now calls for those monies to be paid back.
Thomas Cook fell into administration in the early hours of Monday morning, after almost 180 years in business, leaving hundreds of thousands of people stranded abroad.
The British Government is now engaged in the biggest peacetime repatriation operation in recent memory.
