Confectionary giant Thorntons have announced an urgent recall of their iced dark chocolate Easter eggs.
The particular batch of eggs have been personalised with icing and are unsuitable for people with allergies or intolerances to milk.
The packaging on the eggs does not declare the milk which poses the health risk.
The warning states: “Thorntons is recalling all batches of the above Easter egg product from customers. The icing contains milk which is not declared on the label.
This may make the product unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of milk.”
The 265g egg has been pulled from Irish shelves, and anyone who already purchased the egg is entitled to a full refund.
