Thousands of Dublin households without electricity after substation catches fire

Up to 7,000 homes and businesses in south Dublin remain without power this morning, after a substation was damaged by fire.

The areas without power include: Blackrock, Booterstown, Foxrock, Sandymount, Leopardstown, Mount Merrion and Stillorgan.

The fire is now under control, but motorists are advised to exercise care as many traffic lights remain out of order.

There were no reports of personal injuries.
