If you booked your summer holidays through lowcostholidays.ie, you may have to book again elsewhere, as the online travel agency ceased trading without notice three days ago, throwing the holiday plans of up to 15,000 people into disarray.
If you are already abroad on a holiday booked through the website, you will also likely have to pay for your accommodation again, despite having paid through the site already. Flight tickets will remain valid, however.
The Irish travel agents association will now launch an investigation into how the site went bust during the peak holiday season, without any kind of notice. Lowcostholidays.ie was reportedly still taking bookings hours before a closure notice appeared on the site.
