Thousands of Irish people forced to wait over three months for bowel cancer test

The dire state of the Irish health service is revealed once again, as over 5,700 people have been forced to wait three months or longer for a potentially life-saving bowel cancer test.

The total number of patients waiting is 5,731.

The shocking statistic means that patients who may already be suffering from bowel cancer might experience a delay in diagnosis, which may in turn lead to poor outcomes when compared with early detection.

The crisis continues.
