An estimated 19,500 people are taking part in the Dublin Marathon today.

The event, which usually takes place on the October Bank Holiday Monday, was moved to today.

The marathon route runs along Patrick Street, down the quays, turning at Blackhall Place, and then enters Phoenix Park.

It continues on through Dolphin’s Barn, Crumlin, Terenure and Stillorgan, before heading back towards the city centre.

Fastest runners are expected to cross the finish line at around now.
