Three flights inbound to Gatwick Airport in London were forced to divert to alternative destinations due the sighting of drones earlier today.
The flights, coming from Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Heraklion in Greece landed at Stansted Airport instead. The flights then flew over to Gatwick once the area was deemed to be drone-free.
Drones flying around airports have become an increasingly common problem. Gatwick Airport was forced to close for over a day just before Christmas 2018 due to the presence of drones in the vicinity of the airport grounds.
