Gardaí in Co Cork have arrested three men following an attempted robbery at the home of an elderly couple.
The arrests were made after two men tried to enter the couple’s home in the Freemount area of Charleville, at approximately 6pm on Saturday evening.
Gardaí say the men were arrested after they were seen by officers entering the farmhouse after the couple left for mass.
It is understood a third man believed to be a getaway driver was arrested following Garda a pursuit which ended in Banteer.
Gardaí say the three men aged in their 60s, 50s and 40s were taken to Mallow and the Bridwell Garda Stations for questioning.
