Carey turned to the woman and inquired, “Are you dreaming?” He had accessed the home through an open window, leaving behind blood on the windowsill. He took a bag of coins, an identification card, and a bank card, reports Breaking News.
Gda Grimes stated that another 86-year-old homeowner was awakened by a noise and found Carey exiting the kitchen.
Carey demanded money before taking the house keys and fleeing. He had broken a back kitchen window to enter the residence, and droplets of blood were discovered on the ground afterward.
A different homeowner later informed gardaí that their security cameras captured someone attempting to break into their house, but the locked doors prevented any entry, reports Breaking News.
Gardaí subsequently located Carey, who had noticeable fresh injuries on his hands and face. His DNA was linked to several burglary scenes after analyzing the blood he left behind.
