A man in his 30s has lost his life following a collision between a car and a lorry in Claremorris, Co Mayo, reports RTE.
He was declared dead at the scene, with no reports of additional injuries.
The accident occurred on the N17 at Corbally around 5pm.
The road has been closed overnight, and a forensic examination by Garda Collision Investigators is scheduled for the following morning, with local diversions in effect, reports RTE.
Gardaà are urging any witnesses to this incident to step forward.
They are also requesting road users who may have recorded footage, including from dash-cams, while traveling in the area at the time of the accident to share this with them.
