
A man has been arrested following a car hijacking and two robberies that occurred in Dublin and Wicklow on Saturday, reports Breaking News.
Gardaà responded to a report of a carjacking at a commercial premises on St. Peter’s Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12, on Saturday evening.
At around 7.45 pm, a man approached a black Nissan Qashqai and threatened the female driver, who subsequently got out of the vehicle, reports Breaking News.
The man then drove away in the stolen car.
Later that night, gardaà attended the scene of a robbery at a commercial premises on the Dublin Road in Bray, Co. Dublin, which happened at approximately 8.15 pm.
A man entered the premises carrying an implement and made threats towards staff. A quantity of alcohol was stolen, reports Breaking News.
Shortly after 8.45 pm, gardaà were called to another robbery at a commercial premises in Rathnew, Co. Wicklow.
A man entered the store and, using an implement, threatened staff before stealing a sum of cash, reports Breaking News.
Gardaà believe that the vehicle involved in the two robberies was the black Nissan Qashqai taken earlier that evening.
A man in his 40s was arrested on the morning of Sunday, 27th April 2025, in connection with the incidents and is being held at a Garda Station in Dublin, reports Breaking News.
He has since been charged and is due to appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday morning.
An Garda SÃochána is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incidents to come forward.
Anyone who was on St. Peter’s Road in Walkinstown, Dublin 12, between 7.30 pm and 8 pm on Saturday, 26th April 2025, is urged to contact investigating gardaÃ, reports Breaking News.
Investigators are particularly interested in any sightings of a 141-MH registration black Nissan Qashqai moving through Walkinstown, Dublin 12; Bray, Co. Dublin; and Rathnew, Co. Wicklow, between 7.30 pm and 9.30 pm on Saturday evening.
In addition, road users or pedestrians who may have captured camera footage (including dash-cam footage) are encouraged to share it with gardaÃ.
