Time for change – Brian Kerr calls for Delaney and the entire FAI board to go

Former Republic of Ireland manager Brian Kerr has said that the entire FAI board should step down and be replaced in the wake of the loan scandal involving CEO John Delaney.

Speaking to Virgin Media Sport, the former Irish boss said the current board have been complicit in what has been going on under the tenure of Delaney and therefore they should be getting out of it all together.

Kerr who questioned the board’s knowledge of the loan, by stating why weren’t they aware – it was their job to know, told the broadcaster that the current board have been there far too long and should walk away as they are past their sell by date.

In a week were the Sport Ireland suspended funding to the FAI, Kerr claimed that the board is hanging on by claiming that they are apparently only finding out some of the things that were going on, now.

He added that Sport Ireland’s decision to withhold funding was significant and he believes they must have a strong reason to do so.
