As the Leaving Cert examinations get underway nationwide, the thermometer is expected to rise up to 26C in places, thus marking the hottest day of the year so far.
However, the weather is expected to break tomorrow, Thursday. The day will start off dry and sunny, but rain will put an appearance later in the day as an approaching weather front from the Atlantic makes landfall.
Friday, and into the weekend, will see more rain nationwide, with temperatures dipping to below 20C.
