Investigative journalist and free speech activist Tommy Robinson has been banned from Facebook and Instagram.
Facebook, the company that owns both Facebook and Instagram, has banned Tommy Robinson for allegedly repeatedly breaking their site policies on hate speech.
They are more precise in their banning by saying that Robinson broke rules, including public calls for violence against people based on protected characteristics, and rules that ban supporting or appearing with organised hate groups.
The company’s decision to ban Robinson from their platform has been met with applause from far left campaigners who some say oppose free speech, and has been met with utter outrage from other people who believe that free speech should be allowed be posted on all social media and that just because left wing elements don’t agree with it, that it shouldn’t be banned.
The strange thing about Tommy Robinson is that every time he is banned, or something goes against him in the eyes of the law, it appears to just garner him even more support.
