Too little, too late: Leo Varadkar slammed for waiting 4 days before condemning Christians killed in Sri Lanka

There’s been fresh calls for the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar to step aside after it took him almost a week to condemn the evil Islamic terrorist attacks that took place on Easter Sunday in Sri Lanka.

Hashtags of #NotMyTaoiseach #NotMyLeader and #VaradkarOut have been circulating on social media as a result of Leo’s lack of response time.

Some 4 days after the attacks on a Catholic church in Sri Lanka which killed several hundred Christians including dozens of children, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar finally bowed to pressure and tweeted his condolences to the people of Sri Lanka.

The vast majority of people were shocked and dismayed at Leo Varadkar’s persistent failure to express sympathy before now.

Many world leaders had expressed solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka and commentators in this country took to online platforms to question why the Taoiseach had not joined them.

The Liberal opened an online book of condolence here for all those wishing to send messages of sympathy to the families of those who died.
