A leading doctor has urged the public to get their Covid-19 once they have been offered one.
Speaking to RTE, Dr Catherine Motherway has called on everyone to get the lifesaving vaccine as the number of Covid-19 cases continue to rise.
Dr Motherway said that people should avail of the opportunity to get the vaccine as there is a high number of people who are unvaccinated being admitted to ICU.
The University Hospital Limerick doctor also said the vaccine is having an impact as there would be far greater admissions to hospitals across the country if there were no vacancies.
She added that a number of people who are unvaccinated with underlying conditions are being admitted to ICU because they are very sick.
