University-College-Cork-Panorama-2012

The Sunday Times Good University Guide measures the performance of the 21 third level institutions in the country. On 2016, its 14th edition, University College Cork was ranked as Ireland’s top university, followed by NUI Maynooth.

Cork Institute of Technology was named the best institute of technology, and IT Sligo was awarded the second place.

Alastair McCall, editor of the list, highlighted the great balance between teaching and researchof UCC, and their quest for academic excellence.

To create this list, a series of parameters were taken into conideration, such as student experience, undergraduate progression rates and research income generation.

This year is the first time that the Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) is not on top of the list on its category.
