Saoirse Ruane’s mum has called for prayers for the RTÉ Late Late Toy Show 2020 star as she battles her biggest health battle ever.

Saoirse captured the hearts of the nation when she appeared on the Late Late Toy Show in 2020, where the brave 11-year-old inspired people across the country with her positivity and courage after having her leg amputated due to cancer, reports The Mirror.

Saoirse’s family have since continued to share their story and mum Roseanna has given an update on how Saoirse is doing, reports RSVP Live.

Earlier this month, Roseanna shared that the family had hit “a bump in the road”:

“There on the screen was her X-ray, staring me in the face, there was no denying this recurrent tumour. Her 3rd to date,” Roseanna shared on her Instagram, ‘Saoirse and mamma’, reports The Mirror.

Roseanna has thanked her followers for their support during such a “difficult stretch” and asked them to keep Saoirse in their prayers as she prepares for further treatments:

“Your love and support definitely carried us through a difficult stretch of confusion, heartache, time spent wondering, time spent waiting and attending hospital appointments. As you all know, this was never going to be an easy journey for Saoírse, every battle she won has been a true testament to her, her strength and her determination,” she said, reports The Mirror.
