Motorists have been advised to avoid the M1 heading southbound at Drogheda, Co Louth as a major crash claimed the life of a lorry driver.
It’s understood that the driver’s lorry didn’t overturn but he did lose control of the vehicle, crashed and died from his injuries before lunch.
There’s now tailbacks of 4 miles going into Drogheda as the M1 is closed for 8 miles.
Motorists are asked to go through Drogheda or Collon to avoid the tailbacks.
