Tragedy as boy of 15 dies in car crash, four teenagers injured




On Saturday night at 10pm a 15 year old Boy died after the car in which he was a passenger mounted a footpath and hit a tree.  No other vehicles were involved in the collision.     The 15 year old was rushed to Tallaght hospital but sadly was later pronounced dead.

Four other youths were travelling in the car. The boys were aged between 14 years and 16 years.  The four boys who survived the crash suffered non life threatening injuries and three of them were also taken to Tallaght hospital. The remaining youth was taken to the Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin and was described as being in a serious condition.

The scene of the accident was attended by the Emergency Services including the Fire Brigade and the Ambulance Service.

 

The road where the accident occurred was closed for a time to allow forensic crash investigations to be carried out by An Garda Siochana.

 

Gardai have confirmed that the car involved in the collision was not a stolen vehicle and are appealing for witnesses to the accident to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 016667700
