Hassan Taiwo, a 15-yr-old boy from Ballinfoile, died while playing in a football match yesterday afternoon in Doughiska, Co. Galway.
It is believed the boy scored a goal before falling to the ground unconscious towards the end of the match at around 2pm.
Ambulance workers worked ferociously on the teenager on the pitch itself before rushing him to Galway Uniersity hospital. Sadly Hassan was prenounced dead a short time later. It is not known the reason for his sudden departure, but it is believed to possibly be connected with young sudden death syndrome.
