An 88-year-old man was killed this week in a raging knife attack on several shoppers in a supermarket while his wife was waiting outside. Church warden John Rees left his wife Eunice, 87, in her car while he waited in line to join their local Co-op supermarket in Penygraig, South Wales.
But he never came back. He died after being stabbed in the throat inside the supermarket. Three other people survived the attack and are hospitalised. One victim was an NHS nurse who was shopping between shifts. A 29-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder.
The police found Eunice, who was suffering from dementia, sitting alone in the waiting car. They have the woman in custody and are not looking for anyone else at the moment.
