A number of friendly bin men have saved a large amount of birthday money with a “needle in a haystack” operation. The bin men went above and beyond and to find the £450 (€509) in a pile of rubbish for Keiahna Jackson before they were applauded when they returned to her house on the same day. The teenager had celebrated her 18th birthday Tuesday at her home in Yarm, North Yorkshire, UK when they picked up rubbish in the area.
She had received money from family and friends to pay for her holiday when lockdown is over. But the whole family panicked when they noticed that the envelope containing all the money had been taken out of the box and picked up by the Stockton Council’s garbage team.
They rang the bin company and the decent bin men went through the rubbish that they had collected and brought her gift back to Keiahna.
