A 12-yr-old boy has tragically died after a pony and trap he was travelling in hit a lorry.
The accident happened around 1:30pm this afternoon on St Cuthberts Road in Clondalkin, in South dublin.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other boys were said to be travelling in the pony and trap at the time of the accident. The boy’s mother was comforted at the scene by nearby residents.
His body has been removed to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been examining the scene for the afternoon and the area is still cordoned off.
