A woman in her 50s has died after being involved in a crash with an off duty garda in Co. Westmeath.
Four people in total have been hospitalised as a result of the crash, including two children.
The garda ombudsman is said to doing a standard investigation of the accident.
The accident happened at 1:30am this morning.
