There are some tragic news this afternoon, as a body has been recovered during the search for Gavin Carey, the 28-year-old soldier who went missing while swimming off the Donegal coast on Tuesday evening.
The young man was swimming with four colleagues, when they got into difficulties. All except for Carey made it to safety with the help of local surfers.
A large-scale search was soon underway, and a body has been recovered today.
Gardai and the Coast Guard have thanked everyone who participated in the search.
