The creator of two the world’s most iconic movie logos, Michael Gross has sadly died at the age of 70.
Mr Gross who created the logos for National Lampoon and Ghostbusters tragically died at his home in Oceanside, California, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer back in 2014. The talented artist Gross’s first claim to fame was when he created the artwork for the 1973 hit National Lampoon, the infamous cover depicted the image of a dog with a gun to its head and the words: “If You Don’t Buy This Magazine, We’ll Kill This Dog.”
Whilst over a decade later Gross received critical acclaim for his artwork for the smash hit movie Ghostbusters, the infamous artwork which shows a symbol of a confused-looking ghost in the middle of a slashed red circle become a worldwide hit, with it appearing on merchandise throughout the world.
Meanwhile Gross has recently received praise for his latest artwork which was in aid of the charitable organization called Flip Cancer in which he along with fellow artists drew raised middle fingers to protest at the illness.
