There was some sad news announced earlier today as the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed that an Irishman has died in Bahrain.
It is understood the man aged in his 40s died in the Amwaj Islands region of the country after falling into a canal located at the back of an apartment complex he was staying in.
The man’s body was recovered after local authorities conducted a search in the region after his employers here in Ireland reported him missing last week.
It is believed the search was held after the comapny became concerned for his welfare after he failed to show up for work.
Speaking about the tragic incident a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs said they are currently in liaison with Bahraini authorities, they also say they have offered counseling assistance to the man’s family.
