There was some sad news announced late last night as Gardaí confirmed that an eight-year-old girl has been killed following a farming incident in Co Mayo.
It is understood the young girl sadly lost her life after she was involved in an accident involving a tractor at Islandeady, near Castlebar, on Tuesday evening.
Emergency services were quickly called to the scene and the young child was taken to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar, however she sadly died a short time later from the result of her injuries.
