Gardaí in Co Donegal have sadly confirmed that an elderly woman has died following a road traffic incident.
It is understood the woman aged in her 70s was killed when her car collided with a ditch in the N56 between Crolly and Dunlewy at approximatley 4.30pm on Friday afternoon.
Gardaí say the woman was the sole occupant of the vehicle and that her body has since been taken to Letterkenny Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing.
