Bad news for public transport users as fares will increase on most services from today onwards

Public transport fees in the capital will rise from today onwards under new changes that were agreed earlier this year.

According to RTÉ News, the new changes which will affect Bus, rail and Luas users officially come into effect from today onwards.

Amongst the new changes on both Dublin Bus and Go-Ahead Ireland services, will see its adult fare rise by 15c from €2.85 to €3.

Meanwhile thosr who use a Leap card will also see a rise in fare fees as the overall fare fee increase by 15c from €2.15 to €2.25.

Meanwhile, Luas user will see a 10% increase on their overall annual fare making it €121 higher than last year.

It is understood the increase in fares comes as part of a Revenue raising exercise.
