Tragic: Football legend Jimmy Hill sadly passes away aged 87




There was some sad news announced earlier today as footballing legend and former Match of the Day presenter Jimmy Hill, sadly passed away at the age of 87.

Hill who played 297 games for Fulham and was later manager and chairman at Coventry, took over as the chairman of the FA were he made a whole host of changes to benefit the game, one of which was to lead a campaign to put a cap on players wages. After his career in football ended he turned to television where he became a presenter for Match of the Day in which he made moree than 600 appearances up until the late 90s. Hill was then given his own TV programme called Jimmy Hill’s Sunday Supplement on Sky Sports until he retired in 2007.

The news of Hill’s death was confirmed this by his agent, Jane Morgan, who released a statement saying: “It is with great sadness that his wife Bryony Hill and the children of Jimmy Hill have announced that Jimmy passed away peacefully aged 87 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Bryony was beside him.”
