Gardai in Co Galway have sadly confirmed that a 77 year old man has been killed following a crash in Loughrea on Tuesday morning.
It is understood the man who sadly died a short time after the crash, was involved in a single vehicle collision when the car he was driving collided with a barrier on Barrack Street at approximatley 8am yesterday morning.
Although attempts were made to resuscitate the man at the scene, Gardai say the man sadly passed away in a nearby hospital in Ballinasloe.
Gardai also say an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
