Authorities in the US have sadly confirmed that a two-year-old girl has died after being found inside a sweltering hot car in San Diego, California.
According to reports in the US, the toddler was found dead inside the car after her mother had woken up from a nap.
It is believed that the toddler was found inside the car after her mother couldn’t find her such prompted her to call police.
However despite a frantic search the infant was sadly found at approximately 12.30pm on Monday afternoon.
Police investigating the incident say they are currently trying to determine how the child made her way into the car or if her mother left her inside.
They added that an investigation is currently ongoing and the city’s child abuse unit has taken over the case.
